The module explores how we lead equality and diversity in contemporary education. It examines how equality and diversity is structured and produced throughout educational systems and practices. This module adopts a critically reflective approach to enable students to relate theoretical frameworks on equality and inclusion to your personal and professional practice. Key themes explored include experiences of gender, class, ethnicity, disability, disadvantage and care in educational systems and practices. On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: • Critically engage with the range of equality and diversity concepts, theories and research in education • Apply these theories and research to a critical reflection of their own personal and professional experiences of educational leadership and practice.
