Coordinator: Dr Zerrin Doganca Kucuk (EDUCATION)
Overview Overview

School based experience on the BSc Science Education is of critical importance and provides students with opportunities to develop skills in planning, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning. Learning to be a teacher in the second-level system includes experience both inside the classroom, as teachers of specific subjects, and outside the classroom, as part of a team of educators who work with second-level students. The intention of the school-based dimensions of the BSc Science and Mathematics with Education is to give student teachers opportunities to experience the daily life of the school, both inside and outside the classroom. The expectation is that over the course of the five-year degree, school-based experience will provide important perspectives through which educational theory and practice will be viewed. The goal is to ensure that the science education students’ learning is practically relevant as well as built on a solid foundation of a coherent philosophy of learning and teaching.
