This is an introduction to graduate level Industrial Organization. The emphasis is on theory. We will first discuss the exercise of monopoly power. Topics discussed under this heading include multi-product monopoly and price discrimination. We then go on to discuss oligopolistic interaction between firms. Under this heading we examine, static oligopoly models, strategic behaviour in multi-stage games, Research and Development and horizontal mergers. In the final section we apply the tools in an open economy setting.
