• This module introduces diploma students in Economics and Finance to research in Economics. In the first semester, students are helped to identify a question of interest to them in any area of Economics or Financial Economics. In the second semester they work under supervision to produce a piece of economic analysis, be it theoretical, empirical or applied. Presentation skills are taught as part of the module.

• 14 Seminar Hours, 6 hours private supervision, 105 hours private study

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Assessment: 40% oral presentation of thesis, , 10% Interim report., 50% written thesis.

• Pass standard: 40%

• The written thesis may be resubmitted by the first working day of August. The 50% of marks for presentation and interim report carries over.
