This course will introduce students to the core topics in international macroeconomics. During the classes, I will present the most relevant economic models to frame the insights in a technical, yet accessible, way. Real world examples will be introduced to clarify and justify the interest in the issues covered, and I will pay a particular attention to the unique Irish environment. Findings from the existing economic literature will also be presented.

The main topics covered are: the balance of payment, international capital flows, exchange rate determination and parity conditions. Some topics in international trade will also be covered.
