This course examines the economics of the European Union. Topics covered may include the theory of the positive and negative effects of the customs unions on welfare; the benefits of the single market; the theory of optimal currency areas and monetary union; European labour markets; the Common Agricultural Policy; competition policy; EU trade policy; and Brexit.
