• Discuss how the preferences of governments and interest groups affect macroeconomic outcomes
• Discuss the links between financial crises and the real economy.
• Discuss optimal monetary policy and how this relates to the policies of the major central banks.
• Discuss fiscal policy and the causes of fiscal crises
