• Use the laws of probability to compute the probabilities of events.
• Compute probability values for continuous and discrete probability distributions.
• Describe the characteristics of the sampling distribution of the sample mean.
• Construct confidence intervals for population means.
• Formulate and test appropriate research hypotheses.
