• All modules combine a stimulating mix of learning and teaching activities including as appropriate small group work, lectures, visits, presentations, role-play, directed reading, self-directed learning and e-learning etc.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): ASSESSMENT Students are expected to participate fully in all learning activities both in the college and fieldwork contexts. They should demonstrate professionalism (including active engagement and participation, attendance, integrity and dependability) in all their dealings with the Department, its staff, classmates, the fieldwork organisation, supervisor and wider community. Students are expected to work full-time (on the same basis as other full-time staff) in the fieldwork organisations to a minimum of 35 recorded working hours per week (including evenings and weekends as appropriate) for 14 weeks of the block fieldwork placement. Full attendance is required during Fieldwork Practice Placement. Penalties will apply if attendance falls below 80%. Fieldwork Practice is not marked in percentage terms. It is assessed as satisfactory or unsatisfactory, on the basis of demonstrated professional abilities. Assessment is carried out by the Department Supervisor and the Fieldwork Supervisor in consultation with the Year Co-ordinator. Students who receive an unsatisfactory grade will be required to extend or repeat the fieldwork practice placement in order to have the opportunity to be graded satisfactory. In order to receive the professional qualification, it is essential that students reach a satisfactory standard in each Fieldwork Practice Placements across the programme. Each assessment component of this module must be passed independently, therefore no compensation is allowed between components or between modules. Participation in the residential Study Visit is mandatory. Full attendance at, and participation in, every scheduled class/session is required. Penalties will apply if attendance falls below 80%.
