The course provides students with skills to design user interfaces and interactions in Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual (XR) environments. The module first introduces the Software and Hardware technology (e.g. Web VR, native VR headsets). Then, students will practise data processing and authoring content (e.g. via Blender, Unity3D). Students will develop an XR application with a specific focus on its HCI/UX design. User experience (UX) and usability guidelines for Virtual Environments are demonstrated and practised as well as compared with traditional application environments (e.g. web or desktop applications). This module enhances the material delivered in CS230 and CS280.
