One-dimensional and two-dimensional signal processing: analogue, discrete, and discrete signals; Fourier transform and its properties; sampling theory; aliasing; convolution and filtering. Restoration of degraded images. Object recognition. Encoding images in optical wavefronts; optical image processing. Three-dimensional image processing with digital holograms.
