Module code: CS002
Credits: 5
Semester: 1
Department: COMPUTER SCIENCE
International: No
Overview Overview

This module will introduce students to a number of computer science resources (e.g. Scratch programming, Microbit robots, HTML, mBot Ranger kits) and through these interactions the students will develop a project idea to work on, using such resources. This will encompass the first number of weeks of the module, at which stage the students will choose their preferred resource to use within their project. Students will form groups in which they will then undertake a large-scale project. The students will justify their project selection, and at each stage of its development incorporate planning and management skills to deliver a project. The students will be introduced to tools to aid in the design and development processes (e.g. storyboarding, wireframes). The students will deliver technical presentations around their work at key stages in the modules.
