The objective of this module is to develop a theoretical understanding of Addiction and Recovery in a social context in order to critically review best practices when developing a recovery community. It will seek to develop practical evidence based theory around pro-social activities both nationally and internationally that afford people on a recovery pathway recovery capital.

This module will examine Recovery and the Recovery Movement in the context of substance addiction. It will explore the continuum of care process and consider recovery orientated systems of care from a grass roots approach towards building a recovery community, taking into account the many pathways to recovery
