Overview Overview
 

Aims: To introduce students to some key concepts and principles of modern Biology. Students will be introduced to the basic unit of life –the cell and the various levels of organisation in Biology ranging from the molecules that comprise our cells to the diverse and complex organisms that inhabit our planet. Students will make links between cellular component structure and function and will examine the importance of DNA as the bearer of the genetic code and genetic variation. There will be a strong focus on how we study biology and the key experiments that have illuminated our basic understanding of life and how it works.
