The module’s objective is to provide advanced postgraduate students a mentored experience to learn first-hand about academic publishing and to prepare and submit an article to an academic journal for peer review. It will advance their professional development by providing a structured context to facilitate the stages of the process, from selecting a journal to drafting and submitting an article, through to receiving the reviewer feedback. In consultation with a mentor, the student will: (i) Select a journal; (ii) Draft an article; (iii) Submit the article to the journal for review; (iv) Respond to the reviewer comments received; (v) Revise and resubmit the paper as appropriate; (vi) Submit evidence in the form of the reviewer comments received and correspondence with journal editor.
