This module’s objective is to provide advanced postgraduate students with a mentored experience of participating in a professional conference. In consultation with a mentor, the student will: (i) Select a conference; (ii) Prepare a paper abstract or panel abstract; (iii) Submit the abstract to the conference committee and register for the conference; (iv) Prepare for the oral presentation of the paper as appropriate to the conference context, or prepare to moderate the panel; (v) Attend the conference and deliver the paper, or moderate the panel; (vi) Submit the completed paper, or a written report on the moderated panel, to the staff mentor, along with evidence of conference participation in the form of copied pages from the conference programme showing the student’s paper/panel.
