Sexuality In this module we will explore a range of historical and contemporary scholarship that address the cultural construction of queerness in Ireland, and elsewhere. Through a selection of readings and relevant resources, we will think through the kinship between sexuality, gender, respectability, nationalism, religion, capitalism, and other inter-influencing factors that shape sexual and gender identities in contemporary Ireland. While we will focus on anthropology, disciplinary promiscuity is vital; students will engage with material from cognate disciplines.
