Overview Overview

This course explores the broad applications of anthropology in addressing issues around global inequalities, activist anthropology, intercultural communication, conflict resolution, forensic anthropology and human rights. Many anthropologists are finding work outside academia as experts, mediators, cultural advocates, and consultants. In these roles they put to use their anthropological methods, theoretical insights and understanding of cultural differences. With a focus on conflict resolution and theories of global justice this course enhances students understanding for how anthropological concepts and ethnographic work can be applied to understand and solve important human problems.
