• Discuss the foundational concepts in social sciences
• Source relevant literature and resources to judge the appropriateness, strengths and weaknesses of various issues in the disciplines.
• Develop understanding and experience of research methods used in the social sciences
• Develop awareness of the importance of power and ethics in research.
• Collaboratively design and conduct a piece of research
• Gain an understanding of experience of studying social science and/or arts subjects at undergraduate level
• Develop insight into experiences of teaching arts and social-science subjects at second level.

• The module will be experiential, and the teaching methods will be underpinned by democratic and facilitative approaches. Learners will be given the opportunity to understand and appraise their capacities and challenges in a supportive, dialogic environment.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): This module will be assessed through a combination of: A collaborative project, poster and essay. Satisfactory attendance is a requirement of this module
