	Overview
	This module will explore key texts on critical pedagogy, critical adult and community education and critical thinking and reflexivity. It will interrogate current practice and policy, implicit and explicit, with a view to facilitating social transformation in community and education. This module will also explore critical political, cultural and sociological literacies through an exploration of texts, film, oral histories, music and drama.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Critically reflect on the role of education in society. Critcally reflect on their own educational experience in the wider social context. Develop their theoretical and practical competence in critical thinking and reflection and pedagogy.
