• On completion of this module, students will have completed their research thesis in Adult and Community Education. To this end, they will have completed:(a) Literature review
• They will have completed:(b)Statement of the issue(s) to be addressed in the MEd thesis
• They will have completed:(c) identified the sources of data used in the research
• They will have completed:(d) identified their research approach
• They will have completed (e) completed an analysis and findings from their research
• They will have completed: (f) identified future development, if appropriate

• Research and Contact hours with supervisor plus group supervision.

• Module Graded (numeric value) or Ungraded (Pass/Not Passed): Graded
• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Participation is mandatory in meeting with supervisor and supervision groups.

• Pass standard: 40%
• Could the result of this module be capped? No
• Students who have successfully participated in the course and fulfilled all the programme requirements but are unable to submit the final assignments/thesis due to extenuating circumstances must complete the University's Extenuating Circumstances Form in order to re-register for submission of deferred final assignments/thesis in the following academic year. The Department of Adult and Community Education will review the situation and if appropriate will submit the completed Extenuating Circumstances Form to the Registrar's office for consideration.

• MEd in Adult and Community Education - MHA92 requires a 2:1 in a Higher Diploma in Further Education or equivalent or a 2:1 in a relevant Degree or equivalent. Experience in the field is preferable for the purposes of applying to the programme. MEd in Adult Guidance and Counselling - MHA51 requires a minimum 2:2 in a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling or equivalent plus 3 years’ experience in the field.
