Aim: This module is designed to support a critical analysis of education's role as a force for social justice and equality, reviewing the context of Irish education.

Objectives:
1. Develop an understanding of the social, egalitarian and political context of Irish education.
2. Introduce learners to theories of education, social justice and equality.
3. Build capacity for critical reflection about the social justice implications of key contexts in education.
4. Give learners the opportunity to practice and appraise their critical reflective skills in a supportive environment.
5. Encourage critical reflection on the social justice implications of education.
