This module reviews key areas of the current financial environment in which accountants operate with particular emphasis on practical situations requiring multi-faceted accounting specialisms. The module will focus on case studies that replicate real life working scenarios. It will require students to read the case study prior to class, analyse the issues and reach a conclusion for resolving the issues. Students must come to class prepared to debate the issues and justify their positions. The purpose of the case study method is to present students with the type of issues they will encounter in the workplace. The module will require you to combine your knowledge of ethics, corporate governance, management accounting, financial accounting, auditing and strategy.
