On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Gain an introductory knowledge of the accounting regulatory regime and the role of accounting standards in the preparation of financial statements.
• Prepare the financial statements of a limited company in accordance with Company Law requirements and International Accounting Standards.
• Prepare financial statements for a business where incomplete accounting information is available.
• Prepare cash budgets for a business.
• Prepare control reconciliations and use other checking procedures to ensure accuracy in completed financial statements.
